About The Park

Having traveled with Jane, my late wife, for a number of years before her passing, she and I would often talk about the excitement of owning and operating our own RV campground! Following each stay in a park, we would put our heads together and rate the park much like a Good Sam’s Club would. We always paid close attention to those spots that seemed to offer that “something special” which made them a cut above the rest.

In loving memory of my best friend, I decided to sit down and review our notes on exactly what would make the ultimate park, a place that I knew Jane would consider perfect in every way. After much research and countless memories of the locations we had visited together, the ideal park just seemed to drop from Heaven … and on August 11, 2006,  I purchased “The Big Red Barn RV Park.”

A proverbial masterpiece, this park has everything! It has a beautiful country setting, an abundance of wildlife, and has a peaceful, quiet, and serene atmosphere. There is no noise from the freeway or passing train. Shopping is close by, along with a wonderful selection of local restaurants. The beautiful nearby town of Carthage also has much to offer in the way of area attractions. Campers can visit the Civil War battleground where the Battle of Carthage took place or spend the afternoon strolling the gardens at the Precious Moments museum. The list of area attractions is just too numerous to list here but has been provided for you on our website.

Our team of friendly and knowledgeable staff is all eager to make your stay with us a memorable experience and to show you why the Big Red Barn RV Park is second to none. The only thing missing is you! Please plan on visiting us the next time you pass by this way. We’ll keep the welcome sign lit and hope to see you soon!
